Miniature painting underwent a transformation during the Ottoman era under the influence of Westernization. It was not a very popular form in modern Turkey and was disrupted. CANAN has taken an interest in this technique and has used it since 1998, which can be seen in a variety of her works - videos, sculptures, paintings, drawings. Dream Dream Dream makes reference to Mehmet Siyahkalem, the master of jinns and humans, and focuses on the fears of women and the dark demons inside their heads.



Osmanlı İmparatorluğu döneminde saray sanatı olan minyatür, Batılılaşma etkisiyle dönüşüm yaşadı. Modern Türkiye’de ise minyatür çok rağbet gören bir form olmadı ve kesintiye uğradı. 1998 yılından bu yana minyatürle çalışan CANAN’ın bu tekniğe ilgisi, videodan heykele, resimden desene çeşitli yapıtlarında kendini gösterir. Rüya, Rüya, Rüya, cinlerin ve insanların ustası Mehmet Siyahkalem’e atıfta bulunan bir teknikle, kadınların korkularına, kafalarındaki karanlık iblislere bakar.
